Therapy for depression in San Francisco, Pacifica, and throughout California - In-person and Online

Your healing matters.

Life has lost it’s spark.

Depression can feel like a heavy fog that settles in, clouding your thoughts and emotions. It's like carrying an invisible weight on your shoulders, making every step feel like a struggle.

You find yourself withdrawing from the things you once enjoyed, feeling disconnected from the world around you. It's as if your joy and enthusiasm have become distant memories, replaced by a sense of numbness or emptiness. It might be hard to imagine a future that feels hopeful or meaningful.

Sharing your distress with family and friends feels scary - you worry that they won’t understand or want to hear about your distress. This leaves you feeling even more alone.

Reaching out for support can be the first step towards finding some light in the darkness.

You know that there is more to life than this. Together, let’s find a way back to your vitality.

How therapy for Depression works

You can learn to feel the sun again.

Depression is like a numbness that settles in when things feel overwhelming. In therapy, we will work together to create an emotionally safe space where you can begin to share what has been weighing heavily on your mind and heart. At a pace that feels comfortable, we will gently explore the network of thoughts and beliefs that have settled in around life events and have led you to feel as you do. Perhaps some grieving needs to happen too. There is space for all of it.

Alongside exploring what has caused your distress, we will consider ways to bring more joy, connection, and confidence back into your life. We will add strategies and tools to your tool box of inner resources so that when life difficulties present themselves again, as they inevitably will, you will be prepared to sheperd yourself through those times with more ease, grace, and self-compassion.

Eventually, life will look more hopeful again - and aften having strengthened your sense of self-worth, self- acceptance, and self-confidence while working together in therapy, you will find that you are better prepared to handle whatever lies ahead.
